Saint Rose Academy Tuition Assistance Plan
Purpose: The mission of Saint Rose Academy is to provide a high quality academic education in a Roman Catholic environment that maintains affordability to all Catholic families. Affordability is maintained for most through the use of volunteers and the removal of the building costs from the student’s tuition. However, Saint Rose Academy realizes that some families will still be unable to afford the tuition. In order to maintain our mission, Saint Rose Academy will offer tuition assistance. Tuition assistance will be offered in two forms: full-year and hardship. Full-year tuition assistance will be issued before school starts each year based on the anticipated continuing needs of the family. Hardship tuition assistance is intended for families who may undergo an unexpected mid-year hardship such as an extended loss of a job. Selection Process: Saint Rose Academy admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, tuition assistance, and athletic and other school-administered programs. Selection for tuition assistance will be needs based. Evaluation of the need will be performed by using a combination of an external company FACTS and a local committee. The external evaluation returned by FACTS will be used as the major decision input to a local committee who will be responsible for the allocation of available funds to the applicant families. Additional extenuating circumstances not captured by the FACTS systems may be submitted to the committee in writing by the applicant family. This local committee has been selected by the Board of Saint Rose Academy to maintain both confidentiality and provide unbiased allocation. Saint Rose Academy recognizes that the information required for evaluation is both sensitive and confidential. Confidentiality of the applicant’s identity and personal information will be maintained in all phases of the tuition assistance process. Full–Year Tuition Assistance Process: 1. The Tuition Assistance Committee will consider the application with any additional information in the next round of awards. 7. Additional Rounds of Awards: Steps 1 through 4 will be repeated until all applications have been reviewed or all available funds have been dedicated. Award: Award of tuition assistance will result in a lower monthly tuition payment. Saint Rose Academy will not issue any payments directly to the families. Please note that a completed student application and $25.00 fee must be in the school office before a family will be considered for tuition assistance. A tuition assistance award does not ensure student admission to Saint Rose. Mid-year Hardship Application Process: Application of mid-year hardship tuition assistance will be made through personal contact with the Dean of Administration. Written details will be required for submission to the Tuition Assistance Committee, which will be convened in a timely manner to handle these difficult circumstances.
